A well known face in the Aberdeen legal world has just launched a unique business venture. Lili Hunter has unveiled her new city centre-based consultancy which will offer a solution-focused blend of services to deliver mediation, HR and employment law solutions to businesses of all sizes.
An experienced, award-winning employment lawyer and trained mediator, Lili also has a degree in psychology and qualifications in HR enabling her to offer an all encompassing service in employment law advice and representation for employers, mediation services and training to cover employment law, and practice and mediation.
Lili said: “Recent statistics show that the average cost of a claim to an employer is £7,000, even though most claims settle. These costs are not recoverable. Most employees want to clear their name or get an apology rather than compensation. They cannot be awarded any of these by a tribunal and this is where mediation comes into its own as it usually offers a low cost, fast and creative solution for both sides. Mediation success statistics range from 83-96%, so generally speaking the odds are better for both parties.
“The logic behind starting my own business was to allow me to further develop the way employment advice can be offered.
“Whilst working as a lawyer, I very often had to call on my knowledge of human psychology or mediation skills so I am very exciting at the prospect of being able to offer a much more rounded solution-driven service.
She added: “I am also extremely pleased to be putting the mix of all of my skills, training and experience into practice for the benefit of my clients.”
